Introducing: Lacey Barber Photography

Light, Love, and Kindness

My name is Lacey and I’m obsessed with light. I look for it in spaces as well as people. I want to show the best side of everyone I photograph. I want to show their light. This is why I started my entrepreneurial life as a wedding photographer.

When I was eighteen years old, I started college as a Sociology major because I am endlessly fascinated by human behavior. Along the road, I found photography and wound up with a degree in fine art photography with minors in art history and print making. Funny how life works out, isn’t it?

I shot my first wedding at 20 years old for someone in my little town of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania. I was hooked. The rest is history.

Nothing is more inspiring to me than travel. My career has taken me from Los Angeles to New York, and plenty of places in between. Most recently, it’s taken me on an entirely new business adventure. After years working a “regular job” as a product photographer and running Lacey Barber Photography on the side, I bought my second business, Canoe Place Creative, in 2017. Here we are!

This last part is important. Kindness. It means the world to me. I pride myself on being open minded, which has led me to photograph some of the most amazing events, from Bengali Gaye Holuds to LGBT couples who are the embodiment of pure love.
